Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability

 

I (patron)  hereby acknowledge that my participation in the dance classes and activities offered by Your Dance Class (the “Dance Program”) could involve possible personal injury. I understand that these activities are designed to place an increasing workload on my circulatory and musculoskeletal systems. I understand that there is a risk of injury, heart attack, or rarely, death as a result of my exercise, but knowing these risks, it is my desire to participate as herein indicated.By signing this release form,I assume all risks in connection with participating in the Dance Program.

 

 

Hold Harmless

I agree to release and hold harmless Your Dance Class and each of their teachers, instructors, staff members, and facilities (collectively the “YDC Parties”) from any liability, cause of action, claims or demands now and in the future. I also hereby agree to not hold any of the YDC Parties liable for any injury, damages or losses in connection with my participation in the Dance Program. Further, I agree to indemnify, and defend YDC Parties from and against any and all demands, claims, and damages to persons or property, losses and liabilities, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising out of or caused by my negligence or willful misconduct.

 

Disclosure

I certify that I have no physical, emotional or mental injury, illness, disability, condition or limitation, that prevents me from participating in or that could interfere with my safety during any of the exercise activities.

 

Photo and Video Release Form

I hereby authorize Your Dance Class to utilize photographs, videos, and recordings(collectively the “Images”) of myself either captured by the YDC Parties or provided by me in any promotional material, including but not limited to social media websites and outlets, brochures, promotional videos and dance clips, and posters. I hereby release and discharge the YDC Parties of and from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liability, damages, and losses of any kind and nature that arise directly or indirectly from the use of my name and/or the Images. The Images are to be used exclusively by the YDC Parties and may not be sold, licensed or otherwise transferred by the YDC Parties.

 

Refunds

I acknowledge that only credit notes may be accommodated and that refunds will not be provided for YDC Programming. Credits will be available only for full program fees prior to the completion of the first class of said program, and may not be prorated. 

 

Severability

In the event that any one or more of the provisions contained herein shall, for any reason, be held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable in any respect, such invalidity, illegality or un enforceability shall not affect any other provisions of this agreement, but this agreement shall be construed as if such invalid, illegal or unenforceable provisions had never been contained herein, unless the deletion of such provision or provisions would result in such a material change so as to cause completion of the transactions contemplated herein to be unreasonable.I fully understand and acknowledge that the YDC Parties are relying on the statements above, and that my participation in the Dance Program are conditioned upon this Acknowledgement, Waiver and Release form.

YDC Heels Levels

This class level is suitable for all dancers from Beginner to Advanced. Teachers and assistants will offer variations and modifications to ensure all dancers are comfortable yet challenged during class.

This class is for everyone!

* No dance experience necessary! *

You’re a Beginner dancer if you love to dance at your local bar, but have never taken a formal dance class before. Or you have previous dance experience, but the last time you were in a dance class was over 5-6 years ago. 


Level Requirements

- No dance experience necessaryAll moves are completely broken down!

* Minimum 1 year of Heels Training * 


You’re an Advanced Beginner dancer if you have completed at least one full year of heels training. You have experience with YDC drills and are looking to improve your performance and choreography skills. Or you have previous dance experience, but the last time you were in a dance class was 1-2 years ago. 


Level Requirements

- Must have 1 year of heels dance training experience.

- Can execute a fast and slow strut without feeling off balance. 

- Can hold a bevel without feeling off balance. 

- Understands the basics of chest and hip isolation drills. 

- Experience learning heels choreography at a Beginner Level.

You’re a Beginner Intermediate dancer if you have completed at least two or more full years of heels training. You have deep experience with YDC drills and are looking to improve your performance,  choreography and technical skills. Or you have previous competitive dance experience in Jazz, Ballet or Hip Hop, but the last time you were in a dance class was about 1 year ago. 

 

Level Requirements

- Must have 2 or more years of heels dance training experience.  Or you have recent experience as a competitive dancer in Jazz, Ballet, or Hip Hop.

- Must exceed all the requirements of an Advanced Beginner Dancer. 

- Can execute a single pirouette while still working on technique. 

- Can pick up choreography confidently without feeling overwhelmed. 

- Can execute YDC heels drills confidently (chest & hip isolations, struts, melting pots, hip dips, weight transfers, turns) 

- Comfortable with structured improve and freestyle movement.

You’re an Intermediate dancer if you have completed at least three or more full years of heels training. You are technically proficient with YDC drills and are looking to improve your performance,  choreography and technical skills. Or you have previous competitive dance experience in Jazz, Ballet or Hip Hop.

 

Level Requirements

- Execute a clean single pirouette with proper technique.

- Can kick to 90-degree angle

- Easily pick up and remember 1-2 minutes of choreography during each rehearsal.

- Can do advanced drill sequence without exhaustion and/or stoppingCan execute a variety of dance styles (street funk/jazz/heels).

- Able to seamlessly transition between standing and floor work.
